The short version is that: They are simply not fun. But the non-aligned path just seems badly done. The democratic->megali idea path does seem more interesting, will have to try it out at some point I think. Investment decisions are bad, 75 pp for a RNG chance to get +1 building slot is awfully underwhelming. The non-aligned->fascist path assumes that Germany is fascist and breaks if they arent, which is bad design. You STILL have to pay back the debt even if the country holding the debt is fully annexed, at war with you, or becomes your puppet.which doesnt really make sense. Literally why?Īnd there are several military focuses that require you to form Byzantium, which seems like an awfully specific requirement.ĭebt mechanics are not well thought out at all. Joining a faction instantly removes all Metaxa buffs if you havent fully upgraded it. Taking back Constantinople via a focus should be possible for every path, but its locked into only a few paths. Non-aligned Metaxa quickly deadends and has no goals other than puppeting Bulgaria. Which brings up another question.why is Metaxa not allowed to take the focus to join the central powers and then get the wargoal on Turkey? Heck, just set AI Greece to go monarchist and watch them self destruct with the civil war, its so pointless. You also get the civil war where you lose HALF the military, and nobody can help send you guns because everyone has a deficit at this point in the game. Taking the "right to rule" focus seems absolutely pointless because it locks you out of the huge Metaxa buffs and you dont get anything to compensate, other than being able to join the central powers. Why, exactly, is Metaxa not allowed to form Greater Greece for example? What is the logic in this? The formables all have strange requirements. I tried doing a greece game and was surprised by how strange the tree was.
